Alrighty then... let's get personal.

I'm Bekkah. Nice to meet you. 

I'm a thirty-year-old Ravenclaw and Catholic convert. I love all things green, mixed-media art, vintage cookbooks, and fairy tales. Not the Hans Christian Anderson versions... the old school cautionary tale ones. 

The guy behind me in the picture up there is Steve. He has had my back since we met in 2006 and we have been happily married since 2009. We currently live the millennial life in suburban Atlanta with our two kids and our two huge dogs. 

Well... other people tell us they are huge. They honestly don't look that big to me. But maybe I'm biased because they're my sweet rescue furbabies...

Steve and I adopted our kids in December 2016 from foster care here in Georgia. We had many many reasons for choosing to adopt an older sibling group, and I would be thrilled to talk with you about it, but that's a conversation to be had in private... so send me an email or something, ok?

I am a teacher and currently teach second grade with ESOL inclusion. It's not an easy job, but I literally couldn't do anything else with my life. Seriously. I tried. I worked in the legal field, a library, finance, and even retail for a brief and shining moment. But education has my heart.
